Some service projects may need financial support. Encourage students to think about how they could possibly get money or materials donated to their cause. Financial support can also be requested through administration. Please document needs on Service Project form.

We will do a building-wide food drive in October.
There could be a Dodger Time that could do another one in the Spring.

4. Almost Home Animal Shelter
  • bake dog treats to donate for them to sell at Shelter or use for current dogs
  • collect donations of cleaning supplies and paper goods (get specific list from AH)


5. Unity Point Pediatrics
  • create reading books
  • design coloring books
  • collection drive of books, stuffed animals, coloring supplies, cards, puzzles
  • Christmas caroling


6. Nursing Home Connections
  • create cards or decorations to give during the holidays

17. Pride Pals/Mentor within FDMS (for 7th and 8th grade students)
  • 7th grade student matched with 5th grade student

  • create routine for students to match up
  • use time to mentor/assist with homework; building relationship activities, etc.


18. Welcome to Fort Dodge Middle School cards
  • design cards with welcoming messages or motivational quotes for new students
  • make a collection of cards in advance and give to office to handout as students enroll OR get an updated list of new students weekly and make personalized cards to give to new students


19. Ronald McDonald House
  • collect pop tabs to be sent to the Ronald McDonald House
  1. Wash Windows
  • organize with a local gas station to be on site to wash the windows of any person who purchases gas during your Dodger Time period.

  • Organize a garbage pick up for the school grounds, railroad tracks near the school or another area in town.
